MINUTES – BOARD MEETING
TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2003
PENN STATE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
GREATER JACKSONVILLE CHAPTER

PRESENT: Bill Dusack, President, Danielle Howard, Secretary, Josiah Pritchard, Vice President, Meredith Dusack, Media/PR Chair, Richard Holtz, Athletic Events Chair, Jim Schultz, Volunteer Chair, and Jodie Davis, Social Chair and Judie Crabb, guest.

ABSENT: Bob Streightiff, Treasurer, and Mary Yanda, Immediate Past President.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Bill Dusack, President.

The minutes of the February 11, 2003 meeting were reviewed and approved 7 – 0.

Treasurer’s Report – In Bob’s absence, Bill reported that the chapter had a balance of $2,519.15.

Bill brought up the agenda item of Officer and Chair successions. Jim Schultz brought up that he would like to be relieved of the Volunteer Chair position sometime soon. Bill reported that Mary Yanda wants to be relieved of any responsibilities as Immediate Past President.

Bill felt that the chapter might need to reorganize the board structure soon. Bill said that he would stay on as president for one more year. Danielle will stay as Secretary, Bob will stay as Treasurer, Josiah will stay as Vice President, Rich will stay on as Athletic Events Chair but he will work on securing his own replacement, Jodie will stay on as Social Chair and Meredith will stay on as Media/PR Chair. Meredith may be moving in the fall but will stay on until that time.

Bill recommended that the board look for Ad Hoc members to join the board in an advisory position. It was decided to ask for volunteers and/or nominations in the upcoming newsletter to get some more people on the board.

Discussions turned to summer activities. It was decided to change the dining with PSU from Uli’s to Dave and Busters to try and get some more of the younger members to attend. We will also look into a Suns baseball game and picnic in July.

It was decided to change the Dining with PSU at Stonewood Tavern from May 17th to Sunday May 18th at 7 pm. Danielle will send out an e-mail reminder.

Judie Crabb volunteered to participate on the board in an Ad Hoc position for now. Rich nominated her to be an ad hoc member of the Board and the nomination passed 7 – 0.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.
