Penn State Alumni Association Greater Jacksonville Chapter

Call to Order: 6:28 pm

In Attendance:  Danielle Howard, Vice President, Amy Latner, Secretary, Michael Anderson, Treasurer, Richard Holtz, Sports, Candice Hornung, Social Chair, Robert Streightiff,  Ex- Officio Advisor

Absent:  Josiah Pritchard, President

President’s Report: no report

Vice President’s Report: no report

Secretary’s Report: Amy suggested dining only at restaurants from Jacksonville Magazines Top 25 restaurants for the upcoming Dining with the Lions season.  The thought is that the prices may be too high at many restaurants, or the locations too small.  We will pick some from the list and suggest other locations as well.  We will dine according to availability.  Per Carrie’s request, it was also suggested that we officially remove her from the board after her resignation earlier this month. Mike and Danielle seconded the motion.

Treasurer’s  Report:  We have about $1500 in the bank after December’s transactions.  We also have less paid members.   We will hope to add new members during this upcoming season.

Social Chair: Some of the potential restaurants for this DWTL season are Brick, Lemongrass, River City Brewing Company, The Homestead, Ragtime, Bucca di Beppo,  Daruma’s or Sakura, The Crabcake Factory and Wild Wing Café. We will try to book Hannah Park for our picnic as we had a higher attendance there than last year’s picnic.

Sports Report: Next year we will ask for a firm commitment from those requesting bowl game tickets so we do not get stuck paying for unsold tickets.

Dining with the Lions Dates: January 23 or 30, February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15 or 22.  We will potentially add a June date at a later time.

New Business: No other new business to report at this time.

The next meeting date and location will be determined.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:38pm.
